Enlarge the Place of Your Tent

March 25, 2019

Cultivate.

Abundance.

Keeping up with our theme for the year, we have been on a mission to discuss what Isaiah is asking of us; what “acts of faith” are we being asked to exhibit. We went into our March Gather with Isaiah 54:2:

"Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; do not hold back; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes."

Because there is so much to be explored in this text, we limited our scope for this event to just the first line: "Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out”. This keeps us in line with taking what we have—and making it better. More. Better.

Our Director Brandi, walked us into the notion that what we are truly being asked to do is adopt a growth mindset, and open our hearts wide and do not hold back. She encouraged us to “fall in love with Jesus”. When we look for fulfillment elsewhere, anywhere else; we find everything but fulfillment. What we need to do is abide in Jesus, and invited him to abide within us. We want the joy and happiness that comes only from faithfulness.

We are urged to enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ and get to know him. Inspired to read the scripture and ingest the Gospel. He came here, lived her, died here, and was resurrected..for US. It is quintessential for us  to set aside time each day to commune with him – with our whole heart. As we explore His love for us, we will also share our love with others. This is the most important task we get to do.

Our Learning Garden has really taken off. The onslaught of rain has brought the majority of the plants to a place of harvest. Most of our seeds are peeking out of the soil, and everyone is getting settled in with watering and decorating their boxes. We intend to use several boxes to maintain our kitchen staples: garlic, onions, potatoes, and the like. We will soon be planting an orchard of fruit trees, and an area to attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds.

We have so many great things planned. Our Leadership Training took place this past weekend. Next weekend we are hosting a Community Yard Sale, followed by our Easter Egg Hunt and Auction. We also have a Fundraising opportunity with our local Corner Bakery on the horizon. We will go into April continuing with Isaiah 54:2, and glean what we must from the second line. We hope you’ll join us at one of our Connect Events. We’d love to see you there.
